Nancy Jacobsen
Manager for the CareerOneStop project
Nancy directs the work of iSeek Solutions and CareerOneStop. She approved the work plan, manages overall resource allocation, prepares budgets, administers contracts, financial plans and reports and acts as liaison to state and Federal leadership.
Nancy also works closely with the iSeek Solutions Executive Board - a joint powers organizations comprised of six partnering statewide agencies. iSeek Solutions provides the focal point for state career information projects, including the Internet System for Education and Employment Knowledge (www.ISEEK.org) website and the MnCareers publications (www.iseek.org/mncareers)
Recent experience includes a special assignment to the Airline Industry Dislocated Worker Project of Minnesota (an $8MM DOL National Emergency Grant to the state of Minnesota) to help create and direct the operation of an Internet based resource called the “Training Fulfillment Center” to connect dislocated workers with training opportunities within MnSCU.
Nancy also participated in the DOL Contextual Learning Project, a $1MM Demonstration grant for Limited English Proficient (LEP) dislocated workers at the Minnesota Teamsters Service Bureau.
Earlier work experience includes positions as consultant, adjunct faculty, and administrator at the University of Pennsylvania and Portland State University for project development, teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) and computer literacy skills.
Nancy is currently enrolled in Wharton Graduate School’s executive doctoral program in Work-based Learning Leadership. She holds a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Pennsylvania and has completed additional coursework in Wharton Graduate School’s Specialized Curriculum in the Management of Not-for-Profit Institutions. She has also studied Mandarin Chinese at Taipei Language Institute in Taiwan, and completed a Bachelor’s degree in English at the University of Chicago.
