2017 Awards for Excellence in Teaching

Faculty from Minneapolis Community and Technical College, Hennepin Technical College and Central Lakes College were honored as 2017 Educators of the Year by the Board of Trustees.  They, along with 27 Outstanding Educators from colleges across the state, were recognized during a noon luncheon on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at the Saint Paul Hotel.

Recognized for their instructional expertise, exemplary teaching strategies and service to their students, college and communities were Maran Wolston and Gill Creel from Minneapolis and Community College, Joan Bernard from Hennepin Technical College and Kari Frisch from Central Lakes College. Videos showcasing their accomplishments are available for viewing. 

The Awards for Excellence in Teaching were established in 2007 by the Board of Trustees to spotlight outstanding dedication and accomplishment of Minnesota State faculty who prepare students for their professional, scholarly and civic lives.
