Academic and Student Affairs Awards
Vice Chancellor John O'Brien is pleased to announce that we are now accepting nominations for the 2014 Academic and Student Affairs awards. The award ceremony will be held on May 29, 2014 at Normandale Community College in conjunction with the Spring ASA Leadership Conference. Further details regarding the event will be forthcoming.
Student Affairs/Diversity and Equity Professional Development Conference
The annual Student Affairs/Diversity and Equity Conference is scheduled for February 27-28, 2014 at the Minneapolis Boulevard Hotel (formerly the Crowne Plaza Hotel) in Brooklyn Center. There is no charge to attend the conference, but travel, lodging and meals other than those provided during the conference are the responsibility of the colleges and universities. Each college and university may send up to 10 attendees each day of the conference. If you wish to attend the conference, please request this through your CSAO, who is being asked to send an attendance list to the system office.

Developmental Faculty Institute - February 28, 2014 - REGISTRATION IS CLOSED
On February 28, 2014, the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities and Century College will be co-sponsoring a Developmental Faculty Institute at Century College from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., open to all interested developmental faculty from across our system. This institute will be free to participants and will provide an opportunity for the shared learner outcome work groups to share their initial recommendations with faculty from across the system within their content area to seek their input and feedback as they begin to finalize their recommendations. It will also be an opportunity to learn about newly enacted legislation pertaining to the transition between secondary to postsecondary education and to hear from national models in developmental education that are showing promise in increasing student success.
Pathways to Postsecondary Regional Leadership Summits - The regional summits to enhance our common understandings of newly-enacted legislation and to explore opportunities for new or expanded partnerships between our E-12 and postsecondary systems have concluded. Discussions regarding the launch of phase 2 will be occurring in the near future. In the meantime, if you have questions, please contact Jessica Espinosa.
FY15 Leveraged Equipment Funding
During the 2013 legislative session, the legislature appropriated $7.278 million in fiscal year 2015 for the leveraged equipment program. Additional information regarding this funding has been outlined in an memorandum by Laura M. King, Vice Chancellor/CFO. Fall Joint Meeting of the CAOs, CSAOs and Deans
If you have attended any or all of the Fall joint meeting, please take a moment to complete the evaluation form. Participants comments are used to assist us with the planning for the Spring meeting.
